I'm the Founder of Blooming Thoughts Blogs

Hi there, I am a 28 year old from Upstate NY. I live in a tiny town called Mount Upton with my boyfriend (also co-writers with me on Guiding Teenagers).

I have a dog named Kasper:

When I am not blogging I am working as a crew member at McDonalds, or at college. I am currently attending SUNY Oneonta with the goal of becoming an elementary teacher. I already have an associate degree in Early Childhood Education through Morrisville State. But when I decided to continue with my education, I switched my focus to Childhood Education. Once I receive my degree and pass my certification tests, I will be certified to teach first through sixth grade. I am extremely excited to start my next journey in my career in just three semesters!

And on my own personal time, I enjoy gardening (Hence all the plants on my blog!), hiking, kayaking, camping, fishing, swimming, really just anything outside, listening to music, and reading! I also love trying new things. If there is something that you do, that you would like to share, I would love to hear about it, and maybe even try it out myself!

How It All
Started

My Story

I started this blog in the summer of 2024. I had actually had a different blog in the past addressing the same topics. However, I felt I was not really ready to share like I thought I was. So, when I finally got to the point where I was ready, I started again.

In my life I have gone through many challenging times. I have experienced various mental health issues such as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, high anxiety, and more. Back when I was only 19, I had married a man who turned out to be nothing like he portrayed while dating. Over time he became very manipulative, controlling, and even abusive. This caused me a lot of issues, such as the PTSD previously mentioned.

Going through these challenges caused me to feel alone, even though I did have support through my family and friends. I decided to write about my story to help others who may be experiencing or have experienced similar issues. It can be hard to push through hard times when you feel bombarded with hardship after hardship. But I am here to encourage others to keep on keeping on.

But my blog is about more than just mental health. I also share life lessons in which I have learned thus far, various books I have read and start to read, advice on various topics and more.

My Purpose

As mentioned above, I aim to help others to know they are not alone when faced with mental health issues, domestic abuse, and various experiences. But I also aim to inform others of the warning signs of domestic abuse, or someone who could be capable of such things.

In my experience with the world, I have found that people are sometimes very unkind. There are many reasons for this, but what I would like to preach is that we remember that you never know what someone may be going through. As hard as it may be at times, I feel it is important to always treat others with kindness. You have no idea how much just one positive interaction can change a person's day.

As we become a more digital world, I see less and less people interacting with the environment. By this I mean, just getting outside for fresh air and enjoying nature. I encourage everyone to get outside (when the weather is nice), take a deep breath and try to do something outside. You never know what new experiences you may enjoy unless you try.

Along with this, I also see less and less people reading books. Reading is a wonderful way to jump into a reality that is different from the one we are currently in. It is a way to relax and keep your worries at the front cover. There are so many genres and authors out there. There is really something for everyone. This isn't school where you are forced to read a specific book or textbook. You have the freedom to read whatever you want! I encourage you to give it a fair chance!
